Ever wish you could
record Internet audio and video broadcasts like you can with radio and TV? Now
you can, with MediaRecorder! MediaRecorder receives streaming media from a Web
source and saves it to a file for playback. It's as easy as specifying 1) the
source Web address, 2) a file for saving the broadcast and 3) timer-based,
clock-based or scheduler-based recording.

Sampling involves
selecting and evaluating a portion of a population (people, things, processes,
documents, etc.) to draw conclusions about the entire population. The advantage
to this approach is that it avoids the time, effort and expense of a
comprehensive examination. Sampling has applications in health care,
auditing, manufacturing, marketing, social sciences and many other areas.
EasySample is a tool for statistical sampling. It supports
several types of attribute and variable sampling and includes a random number
generator and standard deviation calculator. Of course, not all of the
uses for EasySample have to do with sampling. Another purpose might be to use
the random number generator to pick lotto numbers!

Many
MP3 audio files contain descriptions of the content of the file such as title,
artist, album, etc. While this information is useful, a couple of problems
arise in practice. First, since there are few requirements on what is entered
into descriptions, they are often inaccurate or missing. Second, it is
difficult to organize an mp3 file collection by viewing descriptions one
file at a time, as is normally required.
